In this article we are sharing the details on the platforms that will support Call of Duty Ghosts 2 once it releases later this year in November. Keep in mind that some of this information is based on speculation, although the consoles listed in the current gen section are guaranteed to support the next Call of Duty game.
Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC – Current Gen Consoles
The first platform to support Call of Duty Ghosts 2 in the current gen consoles section is the Xbox One. The Xbox One version will launch alongside other current gen platforms but if an exclusivity deal is made, Xbox One owners may be able to receive Call of Duty DLC earlier than other platforms.
The second platform to support Call of Duty Ghosts 2 is the PlayStation 4 – once again, this console will have a release for the game in November alongside the Xbox One and the final current gen platform, the PC.
Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 – Old Gen Consoles
It’s not absolutely guaranteed but judging by previous Call of Duty releases, it would be surprising if a version of Ghosts 2 was released for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The old gen release may launch slightly after the current gen launch or it may be released on the same day. The older version may also have some limitations when it comes to featured game modes, graphical quality and in-game frame rate. Black Ops 3 did have Xbox 360 and PS3 versions but Activision will eventually stop support for old gen consoles. If we’re lucky, Activision won’t drop support till 2017 or onwards.
Android, iOS, and Windows Phones
No other consoles are expected to support COD Ghosts 2 but there will most likely be a Ghosts companion app for Android, iOS and possibly Windows Phone. A standalone mobile game based on Ghosts may also be released for mobile. Besides the mobile ports, it’s unlikely that any other platform will have a Call of Duty game in 2016.
