Whilst the Call of Duty Ghosts 2 release date won’t be confirmed until a few months before the actual date, we can make some fairly accurate guesses about when the game will be making its way to the world. The expected debut of what looks to be the next installment in one of the best-selling console games of all-time should come at this year’s E3 mid-June.
Call of Duty Ghosts 2 should be the next COD title and it’s planned for release in 2016. Infinity Ward is currently developing the latest Call of Duty game and we believe that Ghosts is the perfect franchise to follow up on. Firstly, there are some concepts in Ghosts that are unique when compared to the other COD titles and secondly there is some unfinished business in the story, especially as far as the plotline with Gabriel Rorke has gone.
Current Gen Release
So when will 2nd installment of Call of Duty Ghosts be released? We can’t say for sure, but we are very confident that the next Call of Duty game will be launched in November 2016. The exact release date within November isn’t exactly clear as of yet, but we should definitely see it at least a month before Christmas. The current gen release for Call of Duty Ghosts 2 will feature the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, PC, and new rumors are coming in on a Wi U and all three of these platforms will share the same release date.
Old Gen Release
Eventually Call of Duty’s developers will drop support for old gen consoles. It’s hard to say whether support for Call of Duty Ghosts 2 will expand to the old gen consoles or whether it will be limited to the Xbox One, the PS4 and the PC. If the old gen consoles do get a port of COD Ghosts 2 it may be make it to market on the same date as the new generation version. Instead, old gen owners may have to wait a few extra weeks before they can get their hands on COD Ghosts 2.
One thing’s for certain is I wouldn’t hold you’re breath if you’re rocking a PS3 or Xbox 360 as it doesn’t look like either will be seeing Ghosts 2, at all.
There won’t be any exclusivity deals for COD Ghosts 2 but one console may get DLC before the other consoles and the PC. It’s most likely that the Xbox One will get DLC content before other platforms which has been a thing of the past with previous Call of Duty games.
