Prestiging has been an iconic part of the Call of Duty multiplayer experience for years. In every recent Call of Duty game, players can level up to level 50 and at this point they are given the option to either stay at the highest level or to prestige and go back down to the first level again. This in-itself has become one of the biggest fanatical accomplishments in the famed franchise, which is something we’re fully expecting in the upcoming Call of Duty Ghosts 2.
Prestiging will cause a player to lose all of their unlocked items (besides skins) and players will have to unlock content again. As a bonus for prestiging, a special emblem will be displayed alongside that player’s username whilst in lobbies which allows the user to show off many of their hard-earned accomplishments.
Below, we take a look inside in what could be some of the highlights of the new Call of Duty Ghosts 2 prestige system along with some new features expected.
All Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Prestige Upgrades
There will be an opportunity to prestige 11 times in Call of Duty Ghosts 2. Firstly you will begin the game with no prestige level, but after reaching level 50 you’ll have the chance to progress to prestige 1. If you reach level 50 whilst on prestige 1 you will be able to progress to prestige 2. This pattern will continue all the way to prestige 10. At this point you have the option to once again reach level 50 and once you do you will be able to prestige to the final rank which should be called prestige master.
Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Prestige Emblems
The prestige emblems in Call of Duty games always differ massively from game to game. However, if the prestige emblems in Ghosts 2 are anything like the emblems in the original Ghosts game then we may see a certain pattern.
The first five prestige ranks will feature different emblems that showcase a number of silver stars. The final five prestige ranks will feature skulls with increasingly more complex background art. The master prestige rank would be hard to determine because master prestige was not available in the original COD Ghosts game, but is something we’re h0ping to see in the upcoming release of Call of Duty Ghosts 2.
Other Call of Duty Ghosts Prestige Information
Whilst you will need to unlock all of your weapons and equipment again when you prestige, you will most likely be given the option to save a couple of items to take into your next prestige. Furthermore, all of the skins you’ve unlocked will remain unlocked and any progress on new skins will also be left untouched. The ODIN satellite was in the original Ghosts game and it was available as a 16 killstreak. Hopefully in the next game ODIN will be available for 16 kills but there will also be killstreaks at 18 and 20 kills.
