COD Ghosts had a special wave based mode called Extinction and it offered a fresh experience that other Call of Duty titles had not yet offered. Instead of using zombies, Extinction mode used a variety of strange alien creatures and I really hope that a Call of Duty Ghosts 2 extinction mode makes it to the full release in November 2016.
In this article we’ll be sharing some details about what may entail in the new Extinction mode including details on the new money system, cryptids, and ranking up.
COD Ghosts 2 Extinction – Money System
We’d expect that the COD Ghosts 2 Extinction mode will keep the money system that was used in the original version. With a money system, players can spend their earnings from each wave on different upgrades and weapons. With extra relics, players can increase their money capacity and generally the longer a player survives, the more money will be available for him or her to spend.
COD Ghosts 2 Extinction – Cryptids
In the original Extinction mode in Call of Duty Ghosts, the aliens were called Cryptids and we definitely think they will be making a return in 2016’s sequel. So far we can only guess that the Cryptids from the original game will be added but we may get to fight against new, never before seen Cryptids too. The different Cryptid species all had their own purpose and abilities within waves.
The most commonly seen Cryptid was the Scout, but the original COD Ghosts also included the Ancestor, the Bomber, the Breeder, the Seeker, the Phantom, the Seeder, the Hunter, the Leper, the Scorpion, the Kraken, the Gargoyle and the Mammoth. As you can imagine, Extinction mode already has a lot more variety than the Call of Duty Zombie modes.
COD Ghosts 2 Extinction – Ranks
Hopefully, the new Call of Duty Ghosts Extinction mode will have a similar ranking system to the original. The original version had a standalone rank and prestige system that would reward players with different equipment for ranking up.
