The opening sequence for the campaign of the original COD Ghosts took players to space. The graphics were amazing and the view was spectacular. We’d hope that Call of Duty Ghosts 2 returns to the space setting at least for a little while. Fortunately Infinity Ward haven’t crossed the idea off the board completely, but below we detail some intriguing new elements that could be on the way for COD Ghosts 2 multiplayer.
COD Ghosts 2 Multiplayer Rumors – Space Battles
Maybe zero-gravity space battles would be pushing it a bit too far, but Infinity Ward’s former producer Mark Rubin did once mention that “If we think that it’d be cool to have a battle over Jupiter, sure. Why not?” Rubin also mentioned that “Everything’s on the table. When we start a new game every possibility is on the table.”
However, with that being said, multiplayer maps in space may be unlikely because grenades and killstreaks would only work properly in a place with standard gravity settings, such as a space station or on a planet.
So whilst space battles on multiplayer are probably off of the drawing board, we do think that Call of Duty Ghosts 2 could make a return to space in the campaign portion of the game. With more of a focus on futuristic gameplay in recent Call of Duty releases, gameplay in space has never been more of a possibility.
We would hope to see an interesting mix of non-space content and outer space shenanigans in the new Call of Duty heading for consoles this year, but unfortunately we can’t predict what Infinity Ward has up their sleeves at all.
As the release of Call of Duty Ghosts 2 nears closer, hopefully we’ll be shown a few glimpses of the campaign gameplay and we can find out whether the new game will make it back into space or not. Even if Ghosts 2 doesn’t make it into space, there is still a lot to be excited about with the upcoming game.
