The original Call of Duty Ghosts had an amazing assault rifle lineup and we’re revisiting the old Ghosts assault rifles to see what we think could be the best ARs in COD Ghosts 2. Hopefully some new weapons will be added in the new Ghosts game too but it’s likely that the weapons below will be included alongside any other returning faces.
Below, we detail some of the best COD Ghosts 2 assault rifles that we’re fully expecting, and all of which we can’t wait to see.
When Call of Duty Ghosts was originally launched, the MSBS was one of the most powerful assault rifles in the game. In fact, the MSBS was so powerful that it eventually received a nerf because players who used it had too much of an advantage over other players. The MSBS eventually became less used than it was originally but we think that the MSBS in COD Ghosts 2 will still be one of the top AR picks until the weapons get rebalanced.
With epic accuracy, great fire rate and an added silencer built in, the Honey Badger was one of the most used weapons in the original Ghosts game because it was so great. Whilst the Honey Badger is often considered an SMG in other games, it has always been classed as an assault rifle in Call of Duty and we think it will make a triumphant return in the new Ghosts game.
The ARX-160 was the dark horse of the original Call of Duty Ghosts. Whilst most players had the Honey Badger or other weapons equipped, we found the ARX-160 to actually be one of the most consistent assault rifles despite it looking weaker on the stats page. The ARX-160 told us that sometimes the stats pages don’t always mean everything. If this gun makes it into the next Ghosts game we would absolutely consider giving it a try.
There are bound to be plenty of other decent assault rifles available in COD Ghosts 2 but we’d consider trying these out first at launch because they certainly had an advantage over other options for the majority of the original Ghost’s lifespan.
