Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Rumors, Features, Release Date, Gameplay, Multiplayer, Trailers, Platform, and all Updates
Inevitably, we’ll see a new game in one of the most successful console games ever made as the next installment in the Call of Duty series will debut. The 2016 launch of what looks to be Call of Duty Ghosts 2 is rumored to be the follow-up to one of the best console games in 2013. The original Ghosts brought many of the same elements that have helped make the series stand-out, and there are numerous rumors on what Ghosts 2 will bring.
Gamers will be happy to know that Infinity Ward and Treyarch look to be teaming up once again and will be bringing forth all the things that both die-hard and newbie gamers want to see. The many rumors on the upcoming Call of Duty Ghosts 2 suggest some huge things coming including new multiplayer features, immersive story mode, and some of the best graphics we’ve seen in a game of this magnitude.
The following preview/review gives you an in-depth look at things to come including all Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Rumors, Features, Release Date, Gameplay, Multiplayer, Trailers, Platform, and Timeline.
Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Rumors
The numerous Call of Duty Ghosts 2 rumors suggesting picking up where the 1st Ghosts left off set the stage for a follow-up just before the holiday season. The many rumors surrounding the 2016 Call of Duty game coincide with what we’re expecting as the series has been somewhat predictable over the years. On the current timeline, there are three developers including Infinity Ward/Treyarch, Sledgehammer, and Activision.
Some have been suggesting that one of the three developers would be no longer, but this to be far from the truth. Having three COD developers allows each one to create a better and ultimately gaming experience that’s expected to keep the series at #1 for multiplayer gaming.
We’re already hearing a lot about things to come including a story mode that is believed to be spread out over not just Ghosts 2, but possibly a COD Ghosts 2. The first COD Ghosts suggesting there would be a second for sure, and we’re now hearing the Ghosts series won’t conclude until a third Ghosts that may be launched in 2019. If this rumor is true, it would be the first series that will be spread out over an entire three games.
Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Release Date
Both the official announcement and the release date in the Call of Duty series over the years have been somewhat predictable. Over the past few years, the official announcement has come during the 1st week in May while the release date has come during the 1st and 2nd week in November.
We’re expecting more of the same as the official announcement for Ghosts 2 is expected to be made in early May. We’re also hearing that Infinity Ward and Treyarch are currently looking at the same timeline as previous games. If the latest rumors hold true, gamers can expect the Call of Duty Ghost 2 release date in early November and well before the holidays.
Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Features and Gameplay
Infinity Ward and Treyarch have become known with their creativity, and the many COD Ghosts 2 rumors suggest we’ll be seeing much more. We’re hearing much larger multiplayer maps with new gameplay modes, the return of Zombies, and destructible effects that will resemble gameplay features seen in Battlefield games.
Other rumors we’re hearing suggest a longer storyline mode. Although it seems like the large majority of COD gamers are more interested in multiplayer over the single play mode, we’re hearing the single player mode will be much longer. Offering gameplay of up to 20 hours would be nice, and something that many gamers have been asking for. We’re all hoping for a co-op option for those interested in the storyline mode which will only add to the play-ability of multiplayer gaming.
The storyline mode is expected to continue right where the 2nd left off. After a brief monologue taking you back to the original Ghosts, the blending between one and two is expected to offer a smooth transition resembling more of a movie than a console game. The Ghosts, who are an elite group of US Special Ops forces look to once again traverse the terrain, cities, water, and much more. We may expect to see stints in the Amazon Jungle, snow of Antarctica, the mountains of Andes, and some very familiar locations throughout the US.
As is the case with previous COD games, expect to see some new guns, options, and some new sidekicks that can be called upon while in action. Many of the original protagonists are expected to return such as Logan, Rourke, and other familiar Ghosts. Familiar gameplay modes including the popular Squads which first debuted in the original, Extinction, along with campaign, multiplayer, and competitive.
Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Multiplayer
The Call of Duty Ghosts 2 multiplayer options are once again expected to help the newest addition stand out. Each year, the COD series introduces some of the best aspects of multiplayer gaming to be seen on consoles, and the 2016 release will once again show you why. The online versus play should once again bring back all of your competitive game modes including search and rescue, team deathmatch, search and destroy, domination, kill confirmed, cranked, gun game, free for all, drop zone, and many more.
One of the latest COD Ghosts 2 multiplayer rumors include more players within the larger Ground War competitive. In the original, only 12-18 players were able to play at the same time, but we’re hearing that up to 36 players can play at the same time. If true, this will be huge for diehard COD gamers who have been looking for much bigger, and even more immersive gaming.
[AdSense-A]We can expect at least seven multiplayer maps available at the time of launch with more to come. Possibly four expansions will be introduced over the months following the launch giving us plenty of even more maps for other multiplayer game modes including Extinction, squads, and competitive modes. Many of us are hoping to see a new Zombies within Ghosts 2, but this is highly unlikely if Extinction returns.
Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Trailers
As of this time, there are no official COD Ghosts 2 trailers available with the reveal trailer expected during the early 2nd Quarter of 2016. The past COD game launches have given fans much to talk about, and we’re expecting the Ghosts 2 reveal trailer to be even better. With huge expectations on the follow-up with the cliffhanger the original Ghosts gave us, we can expect to see the big announcement sometime in April or early May.
For now, check out the cliffhanger thanks to the original Ghosts that I’m sure you all remember:
Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Platform
Based on what we’re hearing, it seems like the new COD Ghosts will only be launched on PC and next gen consoles. This would mean that those hoping to see the new Ghosts for PS3, Xbox 360, and other older consoles may be out of luck.
Below is the latest on the availability for next generation platforms:
Sony’s Playstation 4 has become the most popular next gen console, and the upcoming Playstation 4 Call of Duty Ghosts 2 could be one of the biggest reasons why. Sony has proven to be a heavy contender with other console developers which seems to bring out the best in graphics, controls, options, and much more.
The Xbox One Call of Duty Ghosts 2 could be the best looking game of the year. Many analysts have been saying that Microsoft has yet to fully unleash the capabilities of the Xbox One console, and the new Ghosts may just be the game to do it. Expect blazing fast performance for multiplayer gaming features, and amazing graphics across all gameplay options.
The newest Nintendo Wii U console is expected to see the newest COD in 2016, and expect some new innovative controls. The Wii U platform has become a fan-favorite for the younger generation, and Nintendo is hoping that upcoming games will help jumpstart the platform for a more diverse age group. Better graphics and more responsive controls could be seen with the Wii U remote.

Wrapping up this Call of Duty Ghosts 2 Preview/Review
There’s no denying the 2016 launch of the newest COD game will be huge, and some are already speculating that Ghosts 2 will be the best one by far.
